Springtime and Swings

Since it was a beautiful spring day today, Grandpa put up Anneke's new swing.  She loved it!

We've been introducing Anneke to cereals for the last few weeks.  Sometimes it goes well, sometimes not so much.  But the other day while we were eating dinner she decided to try the table instead.  She had her tongue way out and kept going back for more, so I guess it didn't taste too bad!

Hopscotch Anyone?

I came home recently to find that some neighbourhood children had been busy...  Really busy...

Yes, the numbers on our pavement really do go up to 600.

And no, at 600, you are NOT done. 

Apparently, some girls had a lot of time on their hands, and made, probably the longest hopscotch game I've ever seen.  It starts at the third house from the lights at Livingstone and Ford Street.  Continues past our house....

Crosses the street (it tells you to cross the street)(I'm glad to see they practiced safety and stopped at our corner, crossed the street, and continued...)

And goes for quite a distance down Lillian past the Salvation Army church.

I think the total number of squares was close to 1500!

Good luck hopping on one foot!

Cute Little Feet

Anneke turned 6 months old on Saturday and we cannot believe how fast time has gone!  At her 6 month doctors appointment she was 17lbs 9oz and 70 cm long (27.6 inches).  We're pretty sure she's going to be a tall girl!
Lately she has developped an interest in her feet and anything on them--socks and shoes.  (I'm sure Daddy would love it if this continued to develop into a huge shoe collection as a teenager!! :)  Anyways, we got some pictures of her and her cute little feet on the weekend.

And after several weeks of attempting, her feet finally made it to her mouth!  Success!

Trying to Blow Bubbles......

Anneke  has been trying to blow bubbles.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it looks more like this:
