So, today is my birthday. So far I've had a good day. I was asked to go to a small Christian school to watch over some children for the day - and get paid. The beauty of it was that there were only 4 children left in the class (half the class went away for the day and I was left with 4). So I read a good amount of "Hatchet" by Gary Paulson. It was nice of them to pay me for my time.
I've been asked a couple times if I feel any older today. Which, of course, everyone knows the answer is 'not really'. I mean, you're told that you're a year older. But really, for about two years I've just rounded my age up to the nearest 10. So when my birthday comes around, I can actually surprise myself, and feel a little younger.
"Your 28?" someone might ask.
To which I'd reply, " I am?" in astonishment. All this time I thought I was 30... I really should keep better track of this thing...
Anyway, Steph and I have choir practice tonight. So we won't be around for much more of the evening. If you haven't called to say "Happy Birthday" you can try later in the evening, or tomorrow.
Just don't ask if I'm 40 yet. 'cause that would be insulting.

A little late in the day to be sending this, but I hope you had a great day. I thought about you today, but kept thinking your BD was tomorrow!! If you're thinking you're older than you really are, that makes me even older, too! This message is evidence!! I'm glad, though, that your card arrived early! :) May God bless you, David.
